Zooming Out
When do I get to zoom out?
I feel overwhelmed by one of my strengths: the ability to focus on minutiae and to see long-term layers of consequences rippling out from one decision in the present.
Consequently, I feel paralysed by my own foresight.
I’m struggling to make simple decisions and battling at second-guessing myself over momentous choices. Right now I have a baby who is all out of routine. My five older kids are about to go back to school, which should majorly reduce the daily pressure, yet I still feel like that proverbial rabbit… staring at the headlights, unable to quit the fixation in order to survive.
