Incidentally, today is five years since Family Unity Day.

This is the day when we celebrate the adoption celebration in court. Ella was already officially David’s daughter by this point in 2014, but this was the day when we had the ceremonial event with the Judge.

Ella was much smaller. The boys were little. J was in my womb and Z wasn’t even on the radar.

It’s only been five years.

How has so much happened in those five years, yet it is still only five years?

This may seem like a pointless post to you. But not to me. I need to mark this day. We have made it through five years. She is changing. We all are changing. There is hope that we can take this journey step by step…

Thank You, Lord, for five years.
